Calling All Crows partners with musicians and fans to create change through hands-on activism and service.
Activism
Calling All Crows strives to bring a variety of social issues to the attention of music fans and to empower its constituency to leverage their voices and power for positive change. CAC achieves this through concert outreach efforts, rallies, community conversations, and messaging through media outlets and from stage.
Calling All Crows, in partnership with Amnesty International, The College Board and other organizations, has mobilized support for: marriage equality, increased access to quality education in the US, the abolition of the death penalty, stronger environmental policy, and women's empowerment in the US and abroad.
Hands-on Service
Musicians and their fans serve together with a local organization to create community-level change before heading to a concert. These pre-show service projects provide a taste of hands-on service while connecting volunteers to service organizations in their own communities.
Since its inception, Calling All Crows has organized over 100 projects in partnership with musicians, local service organizations, and volunteers. Projects include school beautification such as mural-painting, sorting donations for shelters, clearing invasive species from parks, beach clean-ups, and more.
Grassroots Fundraising
Calling All Crows engages music fans in grassroots fundraising to support local non-profits and community organizations with whom it partners, as well as to support its own work providing service and learning opportunities to music fans across the country and in Europe.
CAC hosts large fundraising events annually to support its work, including a Halloween 5K and its Annual Benefit Weekend in Boston. Additionally, supporters donate through a monthly giving program, The Crow Club, and through concert outreach efforts. Calling All Crows has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to Oxfam America's women's empowerment programs in Sudan, to women's shelters in Afghanistan, to Teach for America Denver, and to many local service partners in the US.
Alternative Break Tours
Alternative Break Tours (ABTs) are unique volunteer trips for music fans looking to create change through hands-on service and activism. Created to give a taste of touring life, ABTs are full-immerson experiences for service-minded music fans.
Volunteers travel together by train, plane, or tour bus; serve with local organizations each day; and then help to inspire music fans to take action while catching one of their favorite bands on stage each night.
Calling All Crows has hosted ABTs with State Radio, DISPATCH, and Chadwick Stokes & the Pintos, each focusing on an issue ranging from women's empowerment to education to the environment. Following their ABT experience, many volunteers go on to become dedicated Calling All Crows supporters, human rights activists, AmeriCorps members…and more!
