    My Calling All Crows Experience

by Ben Schwartz, Calling All Crows Intern

For the past year and a half, I have had the privilege of being an intern for Calling All Crows. I had been a fan of State Radio and Dispatch for many years when the organization was founded in December 2008, and upon its inception, I hoped to get involved as frequently as possible. I had always found Chad’s lyrics and activism incredibly inspiring, and I was excited to see he and Sybil put all of that positive energy into an organization that connects music, humanitarianism, and volunteerism. After attending many of the organization’s events in the first half of 2009, I applied to be Calling All Crows’ Boston Mobilization Intern that fall. In this position, I worked to plan service events in the Boston area throughout the fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010. For the past few months, I have been helping to coordinate the Crow Club, a position I find equally as inspiring and exciting as my previous one.

At every event I have attended, I have been amazed by the amount of energy and dedication all of our volunteers possess, and seeing people’s excitement for our mission has been the most fulfilling part of this job. Working for Calling All Crows has been the most fun and rewarding experience I have ever taken part in. I have been truly inspired by the people I have worked with and the volunteers I have gotten to know, and I can honestly say that my work for Calling All Crows has influenced my life in a powerful way. I cannot wait to see the organization continue to grow.
